New provincial thriller will be released in October
The time has finally come in October: The new provincial thriller “Apple Strudel-Alibi” by Eberhofer finder Rita Falk appears in the book stores.
After some fear there is finally certainty: The new Eberhofer thriller by writer Rita Falk (61) will be released on October 16 at DTV Verlag. “Apfelstrudel-Alibi. A provincial crime thriller” is already the 13th novel, in which the native of Oberammergauer continues the life of the grumpy but popular village police officer Franz Eberhofer from Niederkaltenkirchen.
That’s what it’s about in “Apfelstrudel-Alibi”
Franz Eberhofer already has enough trouble, but now his wife Susi is also mingers into everything as a freshly elected mayor. Franz has completely different problems because he has to deal with a real murder case.
Judge Moratschek is convinced that his patent subsidiary Letitia does not simply crash in mountain hiking in South Tyrol, but was a victim of crime. He exhorts Eberhofer to immediately go to Landshut to tackle the new case. “No beer, no liver cheese and run thirty kilometers twice a week … that I don’t laugh! Rather a penguin is scrambling onto the Zugspitz. And now they move their business ass into Landshut, understood? You have a new case, Eberhofer!” ,.
Franz finds the whole thing extremely suspect – or maybe more Italian mysterious. Soon he will follow the traces of the alleged murder victim in the Dolomites. In the meantime, his colleague Rudi Birkenberger covers the main suspect at a campsite.
Does the 13th case really bring misfortune? Franz considers this idea to be nonsense – but who knows …

Between 2010 and 2023, twelve volumes of the popular crime series – all with culinary tits: “Winter potato dumplings”, “steam noodle blues”, “Schweinkopf al dente”, “semolina lifter”, “Sauerkrautkoma”, “Zwetschwetatschikomplott”, “Leberkäsjunkie”, “WeißwurstConnection”, “Kaiserschmarrndrama”, “Guglhupfwader”, “Rehragout rendezvous” and “Steckerlfischfiasko”.
Between 2013 and 2023, nine of the volumes published so far were filmed and brought to the cinema – albeit in a slightly changed order.
The tenth film adaptation, “Steckerlfischfiasko”, is coming up this autumn. The theatrical release is planned for summer 2026.
