Gigi Birofio is changing his version to his motorway crash: contrary to the police statements, he was on the road with clasp belt.
Was he strapped up now or not? The reality TV actor Gigi Birofio gets involved in contradictions after his serious motorway accident near Heilbronn.
The 26-year-old had an accident last Friday with his friend and TV colleague Yasin Mohamed on the A81 near Ilsfeld. His corvette hurled into several vehicles on Nasser carriageway and was completely destroyed. Two people suffered minor injuries, according to the police, the property damage amounts to around 140,000 euros. Birofio and Mohamed remained unharmed and posted the scene of the accident immediately after the crash.
Gigi Birofio: First admission, then back
On the Sunday after the accident, the former jungle camp participant really talked to an Instagram story and admitted a explosive detail: “I was not strapped, that’s right,” he explained, but added: “What has to do the buckle up with the course of the accident?
But now Birofio is back. He suddenly claims the opposite: “It is not true that I was not strapped.” He not only contradicts his own statements, but also the knowledge of the police.
Police speaks of a lack of strapping belt
The Investigators of the Heilbronn police had previously reported that the belt obligation was clearly violated. “It could be found on site that the driver of the Corvette was not strapped at the time of the accident”.
Gigi Birofi also presents a different version than the police at the cause of the accident. While the investigators speak of “probably not adapted speed”, he insists on RTL to aquaplaning: “It wasn’t excessive speed. Since it was aquaplaning, I lost control and the car did not stop slipping.” Even after a braking, he could no longer capture the car, which caused an impact.
The police investigations continue. In addition to violation of the straps and excessive speed, Birofio is also determined for negligent bodily harm.
