“I don’t like this when a society is split so apart and politics also helps,” says the cult comedian. In the “Playboy” the 69-year-old explains what still bothers him.
Helge Schneider, soon 70 years old comedian, observes “a certain insolence towards older people”. In the German edition of the “Playboy”, the 69-year-old (birthday on August 30th) mentions as an example “that you now need an app so that you can ride the train”.
Schneider explains this as follows: “You have to order a ticket on the Internet, otherwise you are stupid and have to pay triple. You have to deal with this shit, with this internet, and now this AI stuff is added. When I look into the cell phone, I only read AI everywhere.” Television is similar. “I mean which 80-year-old knows the media library and knows what he has to press?”
When asked what is also bothering him from the current times, Schneider tells the “Playboy”: “The division of society. No matter where you look. At Corona it started. One complains about the other. One is vaccinated, the other is not vaccinated. So I always try to bring both sides together. I don’t like it when a society is split up and the politics has been helping it for a long time.”
“There is nothing going on in small cities today”
In Spain, where he has the man from the Ruhr area, he likes the social life: “I like that I can always go everywhere. When I am hungry, I just go out and eat something. I have a little house there. And there are many small pubs. I miss that in Mülheim, especially in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg or Cologne, but nothing is going on in small cities today.”
Helge Schneider’s new film “The Trimperclown” will run in selected cinemas from Thursday (August 7) and will soon be seen in the ARD media library. On August 20, the documentary comes in the first, i.e. on linear television.
