The US director and Oscar winner Francis Ford Coppola can be treated in a hospital in Rome. Italian media had previously reported that the 86-year-old had been admitted due to heart problems. On social media, Coppola calmed his fans: “I’m fine.”
The director said on Instagram that he used his stay in the Italian capital “to have my 30-year-old atrial fibrillation treatment with her inventor, the great Italian doctor Dr. Andrea Natale, refreshed!”. Hundreds of recovery wishes from fans received on his Instagram profile.
The five-time Oscar winner, known for classics such as the trilogy “Der Pate” and “Apocalypse Now”, has family roots in Italy: his grandparents come from the southern Italian city of Bernalda in the Basilica region. There he has a hotel that was converted from a historic villa and regularly spends time on site.
