After his conviction for sex crimes, Sean Combs is waiting for the sentence in prison – and hopes for helping to help.
The lawyer team of the US rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs (55) sentenced for sexual offenses contacted US President Donald Trump with the request for a pardon. “It is my understanding that we have contacted and led conversations with regard to pardon,” lawyer Nicole Westmoreland told the TV station CNN.
Asked what opportunities the musician calculate, said the lawyer that Combs was a “very hopeful person and I believe that he remains hopeful”. The White House did not want to comment on CNN.
There have been speculation about a possible pardon of Combs by Trump for months. Trump himself had always expressed very vague.
Serious allegations – but only spoken guilty
Combs had been arrested last September for allegations of sexual offenses in New York. The public prosecutor had accused Combs, abused, threatened and compelled women for years, to fulfill their sexual wishes.
In a sensational process, jurors spoke him partly at the beginning of July. However, they only found the 55 -year -old guilty in connection with prostitution – the least serious indictment.
The rapper now threatens a prison sentence of up to 20 years – but no longer lifelong, as threatened if he had been found guilty in all points. The sentence is to be announced on October 3. The rapper sits in the Metropolitan Detention Center in the New York district of Brooklyn. The responsible judge rejected an application for premature dismissal.
