Lindsay Lohan: Problems with Rachel McAdams on “Mean Girls”

While her film figure Cady Heron found the “Plastics” connection, Lindsay Lohan (39) on the set of “Mean Girls” had significantly greater problems with the group dynamics. In one, the actress now spoke about the difficult time during the shooting in 2004.

“It was difficult because Rachel McAdams was so much older,” said Lohan in an interview with her young “Freater Friday” colleagues Julia Butters (16) and Sophia Hammons (18). While McAdams (46), which the nasty Regina George embodied, was already 25 years old, Lohan was still in the middle of school at the age of just 17. Amanda Seyfried (39) was also only 17, Lacey Chabert (42) at least 21. This age constellation led to a feeling of isolation for the teen star at the time: “I was still at school. Amanda and Lacey were hung together. It was difficult for me to find out where I belong.”

A comparison with their current film partners offered the reason for these honest words. Butters and Hammons praised Lohan for their harmonious relationship: “You are lucky because you are close together in terms of age.” The two young actresses, who did not know themselves before the filming of “Freakier Friday”, have now become the best friends.

Co -star Jamie Lee Curtis (66) also appreciated the performance of the young actresses: “What we demand from young people in films – what we asked from Lindsay at the age of 15; Julia was also 15 – is extraordinary.” The Oscar winner emphasized that both butters and Hammons “had their moments when they had to grow beyond themselves”.

In “Freakier Friday”, the continuation of the cult film “Freaky Friday”, Lohan again plays Anna Coleman, who is now a mother herself and is shortly before the wedding with her fiance Eic (Manny Jacinto). Years later, the story tied to the original in which Anna and her mother Tess (Curtis) exchanged her bodies.
