Colombian artist Juanes went down to the subway and offered a Free recital at the Santa Fe-Jáuregui station of the Buenos Aires subway. The composer sang to more than 1,500 people who enjoyed the surprise show that occurred in full peak hour and without official announcement.
Passengers and pedestrians who traveled through the combination of lines D and H found an unusual scene: Juanes, Juanes, accompanied only by his electric guitar and keyboardist Emmanuel Briceñodisplayed his repertoire on the platform. The moment was recorded in dozens of telephones and quickly went viral on social networks.
The presentation was part of the cycle “Your music today”an initiative of Government of the City of Buenos Aires which seeks to bring artists consecrated to the public in everyday spaces. Without prior notice, the show began with “One night with you” and generated an immediate ovation.
During the mini recitalthe musician also interpreted “When we and I were”its most recent single launched the July 31and closed with the classic “I ask God”. The three songs were enthusiastically chanted by the spontaneous audience.
Emotion, memories and new projects
After the presentation, the artist himself shared a video on social networks and said: “Today we went for the subway of Buenos Aires and sang with some of you. It is always magical to sing here.”
Juanes’ visit to Argentina is linked to the promotion of your new album and the announcement of a national tour. During the previous weekend, he visited Córdoba and participated in a radio interview where he recalled: “My dad was a fan of Gardel and my brothers always sang their songs. For me, the chacarera and the zamba are very familiar sounds.”
Fans will have a new opportunity to see it live: on October 28 it will be presented at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires.
