Ex- “Superman” Dean Cain wants to work for the US authority ICE in the future-and thus drive Donald Trump’s controversial deportation policy.
In the 1990s, the whole world knew him as a radiant hero in Cape: Dean Cain (58) played the Superman in the TV series “Superman-The Adventures of Lois & Clark” and became a swarm of teenagers. Today the actor makes headlines with a completely different role: Cain announced that he would like to work as a deportation agent for the US immigration authority ICE and thus actively support Donald Trumps (79) immigration policy.
“I really think that’s the right thing,” said Cain in conversation with moderator Jesse Watters. “This country was built up by patriots who got up whether it was popular or not.”
Donald Trump massively expanded the ICE authority after his return to the White House as part of its so -called “Big Beautiful Bill”. According to “Guardian”, more than 3,000 deportations are already taking place every day, often without the rule of law. Criticism of ICE is not new: the authority was repeatedly associated with inhumane terms of detention, family separations or violations of fundamental rights.
Dean Cain is a reserve police officer
Actor Dean Cain is not a newcomer in the area of security authorities: he is already sworn in reserve policeman and deputy sheriff. At the beginning of the week he shared a recruitment video for ICE and then explained in an interview: “I spoke to some representatives of ICE and was sworn in as an agent as soon as possible.” He hoped that many other former ICE or police officers would follow him.
The image change of Dean Cain is not new. In recent years, the actor has increasingly positioned himself as a conservative commentator and supporter of right -wing politics. It regularly takes a stand on topics such as immigration, weapons law or “Cancel Culture”. He recently described the recent “Superman” film adaptation as “to Woke” – among other things because director James Gunn interpreted the figure as an immigrant.
Criticism on the net accumulates
As expected, the reactions to Cain’s advance are divided. Conservative circles praise the ex- “Superman” for his “courage” to work for national security while many fans are stunned. On social media, comments like “Clark Kent would never have done it” or “That is the opposite of heroic”.
