50-year-old Elena Uhlig emphasizes the importance of relationships from women to women. Her mother and grandmother had exemplified her early on not to put up with everything.
For actress Elena Uhlig, relationships with women are crucial for a happy life. “You don’t need a man to live a good life, but you need other women,” said the 50-year-old in an interview with the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (NOZ). Uhlig grew up in a women’s household. Her mother and grandmother had exemplified her early on not to put up with everything-long before the #Metoo movement, she told the newspaper. “That made me the woman I am today.”
Nevertheless, she still lacks the language with attacking behavior: “You have to process it first. Many men like to make such strange, chauvinist, attacking jokes that are really not funny,” said Uhlig. “I’ve really never experienced anything like that with women.”
Feminism and princess fantasies are not a contradiction. Women should allow both: feminist views, but also romantic longings. “We have to allow ourselves these contradictions – you can and may be both,” said Uhlig. “Everyone has so many facets. If we stop bending, we will get on.”
Elena Uhlig has long been seen in film and TV productions, among other things she had roles in the films “Chantal in the Märchenland” (2024) and “The boy has to go to fresh air” (2018).
