Marius Borg Høiby stands without a diplomatic pass. The reason for this should not be the allegations against him. The public prosecutor’s office will soon be pending.

Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of the Norwegian crown princess Mette-Marit (51), can no longer travel with his diplomatic pass. This was confirmed by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Osloer Hof compared to several media.

Crown Prince Haakon had a long time ago that his stepson Høiby has had a diplomatic pass in addition to an ordinary passport since childhood. Such a passport should make it easier to travel diplomats as well as government and royal family members with official orders abroad. However, the fact that Høiby has now lost this preference should not be related to the allegations of violence and rape against him, but with new guidelines that came into force more than six months ago, who will receive a diplomatic pass in the royal family.

This practice means that the direct royal family members including Prince Sverre Magnus (19), Princess Martha Louise (53) and Princess Astrid (93) had such a pass, the press officer of the royal family told the weekly newsletter “Se OG Hør”, which had first reported on it. Other adult members of the royal family travel with an ordinary passport. A royal family spokeswoman confirmed the information to the German Press Agency.

Possible indictment against Marius Borg Høiby in mid -August

Høiby is the oldest child of Mette-Marit, who has two other offspring with heir to the throne Haakon: hereditary princess Ingrid Alexandra (21) and Prince Sverre Magnus. Høiby belongs to the royal family, but is not an official member of the Norwegian royal family.

A year ago, the first allegations of violence against him had become loud. At that time he had admitted to having become violent under the influence of alcohol and cocaine towards his girlfriend at the time and destroying things in her apartment. Since then, the police have increased the allegations against him, including several sex offenses that, according to the Norwegian rape paragraph, can draw several years in prison. Høiby denied most of the accusations about his lawyers, especially the accused sex crimes.

The case could possibly end up in court soon: The Oslo prosecutor Sturla Henriksbø had recently announced that he would probably decide until the middle of the month whether he was charging against Høiby or not.
