Emma Thompson and her daughter Gaia shine with elegant looks at a film festival. Both showed themselves in stylish two parts.
Emma Thompson (66) and her daughter Gaia Wise (25) made a bright appearance at the Locarno Film Festival. Side by side they gave the photographer their most beautiful smile. The two -time Oscar winner showed itself in white satin blouse and pants on Friday. A gray-black cherry pattern adorned the two-part. To do this, she applied dark sandals and put on red lipstick.
Her daughter also came in a two -part combination. She chose a transparent blouse with glitter trim and fringes under which her bra flashed through. Her cream -colored shorts also sparkled. To do this, she wore light brown heels. Her hair styled her into a updo from which some strands loosened. A natural make-up rounded off the look.
Mother-daughter duo plays in action thriller
The reason for your appearance: At the Swiss Film Festival, the action thriller “The Dead of Winter” celebrates world premiere. Thompson plays a widowed fisherman who comes to the aid of a kidnapped teenager. Thompson’s daughter embodies her younger ego. US acting star Judy Greer is also part of the cast.
At a press conference on Friday, Emma Thompson joked loudly: “Why do you start with this action at the age of 66?! That is just stupid.” A scene in which she had to stop the air under water was particularly challenging. In addition, it took a long time to get used to the Finnish cold. She said about her film figure: “This woman was a real heroine … shaped by the weather.”
First film in ten years
Her daughter Gaia also commented on her role. She was happy to bring about life, “what she experiences and what trauma she goes through and see how she becomes this woman, who is capable and willing to make sacrifices”.
Together with her mother, Gaia last stood in front of the camera for the film “Picknick with Bear”, which was released in 2015. She gained experience as a voice actress in the animated film “The Lord of the Rings: The Battle of the Rohirirrim”.
