“Herzilein” was the biggest hit by the Wildecker Herzbuben. Now one of the both on his solo career. The duo will perform together for the last time in September.
According to a newspaper report, the folk music duo Wilecker Herzbuben is separate. In the “Bild” newspaper, singer Wolfgang Schwalm referred to a illness of his partner Wilfried Gliem: “Wilfried could only do our last appearances in a wheelchair or with a walker. Of course, this is not possible in the long run.” Schwalm is working on a solo career.
Officially, the Wildecker Herzbuben are no longer available: “We dissolved our society of bourgeois law on March 31,” Schwalm is quoted. Gliem told the newspaper that the duo was separated on paper, but he continues to hold the “Wildecker Herzbuben” brand and – if he gets well again – could hire a singer at any time. This could also be Wolfgang Schwalm legally.
One of the Wildecker Herzbuben tries alone
Schwalm is working on his own career as “Der Herzbube Wolfgang”, there is already a new record deal. One last appearance together with Gliem was planned at a hide of the Schlager show by Heidi Klum. “It would be a worthy stage party for us as a duo,” said Schwalm, according to the report.
Gliem told the newspaper that he didn’t know anything about a new record contract. Schwalm has been performing without him for a long time. He will sing in a wheelchair in the show because there is no other way. The duo is on the list of artists of the program from the Munich Hofbräuhaus entitled “Heidifest” on September 18.
The heavyweight folk music duo from Hessen became known with the hit “Herzilein” published in 1989. The first real concert took place in April 1990 in a café in Schwalmstadt in northern Hesse. Then the career of the two heart boys picked up speed.
