Rafael Nadal became a father again: what about the baby name Miquel?

The former tennis professional Rafael Nadal (39) has become a father again. The second son of Nadal and his wife Maria Francisca Perelló (37) saw the light of day last Thursday and is called Miquel. This choice is particularly important for the child’s mother – it is the name of her father who died in April 2023 at the age of 63.

The former number one on the tennis world rankings now has enough time for changing diaper. In October 2024, Nadal ended his remarkable career. At the time, he announced in an emotional video message on his Instagram account to withdraw from the professional tennis after the season. “The reality is that it has been difficult for several years, especially for the past two years,” said Nadal, who was repeatedly struggling with injuries, in his statement. However, it was a decision that was not easy for him: “One for which I needed time.”

His private life also shows that the ex-athlete likes to take time for important decisions. He and Maria Francisca Perelló are said to have been a couple for around 14 years before they finally received the covenant of marriage in October 2019. Another three years later the first son was born, who, like his father Rafael, is called.
