Tilda Swinton surrounded by plants, Irina Shayk in the airy dress: nature plays a central role in the Pirelli calendar 2026.
The Italian tire manufacturer gives a first taste of the Pirelli calendar 2026: Making of pictures show stars like Tilda Swinton (64), Irina Shayk (39) and Eva Herzigova (52) in front of the camera of the Norwegian fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø (54).
From air to fire: the stars in natural elements
It is the 52nd edition of the legendary calendar. Photographer Sølve Sundsbø also wants to express his deep connection to nature. Tilda Swinton poses in the middle of plants, Irina Shayk in an airy dress and Eva Herzigova in the water. He staged tennis star Venus Williams (45) in front of a fire backdrop.
“For the 2026 calendar, I would like to capture emotions, instincts and state of mind that are of central importance for human life: longing for freedom, curiosity, thirst for knowledge, that’s how it could be called,” Sundsbø is quoted in a press release to the making-of pictures. “A kind of secret, imagination, passions, the desire for emancipation, the connection to nature and our relationship with time and space. It is a way to connect with something that we come from.” These are very big topics, “but we try to be ambitious”.
In front of his camera, Isabella Rossellini, FKA Twigs, Adria Arjona, Susie Cave, Gwendoline Christie, du Juan and Luisa Ranieri also acted. The shootings for the 2026 calendar took place in three recording sessions in April, June and July – in the British Norfolk, Essex and London as well as in the Spring Studios in New York.
