“Freater Friday” star Chad Michael Murray almost died as a teenager. The actor now revealed this in a podcast.
With “Gilmore Girls” he became a star, with “Freakier Friday” he can currently be seen in the cinema. But at the age of 15 Chad Michael Murray (43) almost died. The actor now revealed this in the “Great Company” podcast. At that time his intestine had twisted – with life -threatening complications.
“I was in the hospital for two and a half months,” says Chad Michael Murray in the podcast. There he was operated on twice. He lost half of his blood through internal bleeding.
“I was lying on my deathbed”
“I was on my deathbed,” Murray reports. He saw his father, who looked as weak as never before and talked to a priest about the last oiling. A blood transfusion by a nurse finally saved him his life.
When Chad Michael Murray was finally able to leave the hospital, he only weighed 53 kilograms – before that it was 82. “I was a skeleton,” said the actor. When he saw himself in the mirror for the first time, he broke out in tears.
Chad Michael Murray pulls positive things out of the crisis
In retrospect, Chad Michael Murray also sees something positive in the hospital stay: through the crisis he found God and developed a closer relationship with his single father.
Murray also met a nurse who advised him to work as a model. At first he refused because he wanted to become an actor. But she convinced him with the argument that he could still change the camera later.
So it finally happened: Chad Michael Murray initially worked as a model before taking support in “Gilmore Girls” and “Dawson’s Creek”. In “One Tree Hill” today’s three -time father played the leading role. Murray was also seen in the cinema, around 2003 in “Freaky Friday”, in which he embodied Lindsay Lohan’s friend (39). In the late sequel “Freakier Friday” he returned in this role in 2025.
