Harry and Meghan are not new faces at the streaming provider Netflix. Now there is a new contract – which should be less lucrative.
Harry and Meghan have extended their collaboration with the streaming provider Netflix. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had signed a multi -year contract, said her production company Archewell Productions. The message was published on the Netflix website.
However, it is no longer an exclusive contract, but a so-called first look contract. This gives Netflix a first right of access to Harry production, 40, and his wife Meghan, 44. If the streaming platform is not interested, the couple can offer the productions of other companies. Such contracts are usually less lucrative than exclusive contracts, but also provide producers more freedom.
The two are “proud to extend our partnership with Netflix,” said Meghan, according to the announcement. “Harry and Meghan are influential voices, the stories of which are well received by spectators worldwide,” said Netflix manager, Bela Bajaria responsible for content.
The “AS Ever” brand, under which Meghan jam and other luxury foods such as wine, is also said to be part of the collaboration.
Harry and Meghan signed a first contract with Netflix in 2020, according to media reports with a value of $ 100 million (88.9 million euros). The six-part documentary series “Harry & Meghan” about her relationship and the dispute with the British royal family was viewed 23 million times in the first four days after publication-a record for a Netflix documentary.
Christmas special from cooking with Meghan planned
After their resignation from the royal family five years ago, Meghan and Harry had already concluded a contract with Netflix and brought several projects to the screen. The second season of Meghan’s cooking and back show “With Love, Meghan” is to appear after this month. There should also be a Christmas special in December. The series was torn down by critics, but also reached an audience of millions.
Archewell Productions are currently also producing a documentary about orphans in Uganda, which is to be released later this year on Netflix. Further projects of different genres are in “active development”.
From the number girl to the Duchess: This is how Meghan has changed over the years

Before Meghan Markle Hollywood air sniffed and later became a Duchess, she had to start on TV Klein in 2006: as a number girl in the game show “Deal or No Deal”. An experience that she later looked back with mixed feelings. “I was grateful for the job, but not for how I felt. … not clever. By the way, I was surrounded by clever women who were on stage with me,” she said in a episode of her podcast “Archetypes”. “But that was not the reason why we were there. And in the end I went home with a smooth feeling in my stomach because I knew that I was so much more than what was objectified on stage”
