Eleven years after Robin Williams’ death, Billy Crystal reminds his late friend with a moving Instagram message.
Actor Robin Williams (1951-2014) died on August 11, 2014. On the eleventh anniversary of Williams’ death, Billy Crystal (77) spoke up with a touching message. The actor shared a photo that shows him and Williams in a familiar atmosphere – laughing and relaxed on the set of her common comedy “A Father too much” (in the original: “Fathers’ Day”) from 1997.
“Miss you, my friend,” Crystal wrote about the snapshot, which documents the close connection of the two Hollywood greats. The comedy “Fathers’ Day” directed by Ivan Reitman showed Williams and Crystal as two men who are sent by the same ex -lover in search of their missing son – who could theoretically come from each of the two. The cast also included Julia Louis-Dreyfus (64) and Nastassja Kinski (64).
The friendship between Crystal and Williams went beyond joint film projects. From 1986 they formed the moderator trio of the comic relief USA beefic events together with Whoopi Goldberg (69). These regular events of the charity collected donations for homeless people.
Zachary Williams recognizes his father on his birthday
Robin Williams’ son Zachary Pym Williams (42) recognized his father on July 21. “Today my father’s 74th birthday would have been. Every year this season comes with a certain difficulty. In just sixty days we experience Father’s Day, his birthday and the anniversary of his death. It is a complicated time. A time that demands a lot from the heart.” In the end, he added: “To everyone who is just losing a loss: you are not alone. You are part of a journey of love and connection that never really ends. Happy birthday, dad. I love you forever.”
The actor and comedian Robin Williams committed suicide on August 11, 2014 at the age of 63. He suffered from depression all his life and kept fighting with alcohol and drug addiction. Shortly before his death, Parkinson’s and the neurodegenerative illness Lewy-body dementia are said to have been diagnosed.
