Filmmaker Wim Wenders has a morning ritual: his gaze goes out of the window. He doesn’t find it boring. Therefore, he even changed something in his life.
Filmmaker Wim Wenders has changed something about his sleep rhythm. “I used to be a late riser, today I’m more of an early riser,” said the director and photographer of the German Press Agency. “I changed it because I just enjoy it as the world looks like in the morning.”
When he gets up, he was the first to look out of the window, said Wenders. “Wherever I live near Berlin, I have a wide view of the landscape. I don’t want to do without that anymore,” he said. “It looks different every day.” Every season is different. “It’s nice to look out and imagine the day when he starts,” said Wenders.
With films like “Buena Vista Social Club”, “Paris, Texas” or “Heaven over Berlin”, Wenders became world famous. He turns 80 on Thursday (August 14). In the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn there is a large exhibition about him on this occasion – it tells of the “art of seeing”.
