Ciao, America? Jimmy Kimmel has a plan B in the passport: Italian citizenship as a security against Trump.
US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel (57) has an emergency plan in the hindquarters: he now has Italian citizenship. The 57-year-old spoke about the political situation under Donald Trump (79) and revealed that he was officially registered as an Italian citizen.
“Many people I know think about where to get a citizenship,” said hoster Sarah Silverman. Then Kimmel: “I got Italian citizenship. I really have it.”
He expressed himself clearly about Trump’s presidency: “As bad as you thought it would be – it is so much worse. It is just incredible. I even think, worse than he would like it himself.” Silverman added that she hoped that the term will bring people back together. Kimmel added: “It is so difficult to change his opinion. Including that you lay wrong is even harder – and so rarely.”
Donald Trump threatens Jimmy Kimmel
Jimmy Kimmel and Donald Trump have had a public dispute with each other since Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show”. Just last week, Donald Trump I had picked up against the late night host and his colleagues. As asked whether Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” would follow further entertainment programs after the removal of Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show”, Trump said that such programs “hadn’t worked” for a long time “and attested Colbert and Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon lacking talent.
He announced: “You are next. You will go. I heard that you will go. I don’t know, but I can imagine it.” Both comedians had been behind him after the announcement of Colbert’s dismissal.
Kimmel is not the only celebrity that is prepared for possible political changes: Rosie O’Donnell (62) moved to Ireland, Ellen Degeneres (67) to England – both in protest against Trump.
