Superstar Beyoncé has won a special EMMY as a costume designer for her half-time show at the NFL game in Houston. The 43-year-old receives the television award in the division of outstanding costumes for a variety, property or reality show, as the Television Academy announced. The multiple Grammy award winner had ridden into the Texans stadium on a white horse with Cowboyhut during the sports spectacle on December 25th and had given a more than ten-minute show with the title “Beyoncé Bowl” at the streaming service Netflix.
While the Emmys are announced in the main categories on September 14, the academy already announced the winners of the so -called “Juried Awards” on Tuesday, which characterize a handful of technical sectors. Otherwise known names are rarely known among the winners. The Netflix series “Love, Death & Robots” won in 4 categories, including character design and storyboard.
Beyoncé was listed as a winner under her bourgeois name Beyoncé Knowles-Carter together with a team of designers. The singer has won the Grammy music award 35 times, with the most important television award she has now been awarded for the first time. The special emmy is presented at the creation of Emmy Awards on September 6th and 7th.
