Bettina and Christian Wulff’s marriage were divorced in Burgwedel on Wednesday, as the former Federal President confirmed.
Christian (66) and Bettina Wulff (51) have made their divorce after almost 20 years of relationship and several ups and downs. The final date took place on Wednesday (August 13) at the district court in Burgwedel, which belongs to the district of the Hanover district court. “The message is confirmed”. The politician did not want to say more, except “private is private”. And Bettina Wulff reacted to this on the edge of the Maschsee Festival only with one “I don’t comment”.
Bettina Wulff was seen in April 2025 on Sylt with a new partner, which made the love off public. At the time, Christian Wulff’s Berlin office confirmed in a short statement when asked by the German Press Agency: “At your request, I would be happy to inform you that Bettina Wulff and Federal President Ad Christian Wulff broke up with a long time ago.” Betina Wulff did not comment on the separation at the time.
Relationship with ups and downs
The then Lower Saxony Prime Minister Christian Wulff met the then press officer in 2006 on a business trip to South Africa. The two married in March 2008, and in the summer of 2008 their son was born. In January 2013, the couple separated for the first time, but found each other again in 2015. In October of the same year, the two also got married in church.
Three years later, the second official separation took place, and they even divorced in 2020. In June 2021 it became known that the two of their love would give another chance and Christian and Bettina Wulff would even live together again. In March 2023, they said yes again in front of a registry office.
