Sad news at Badminton professional Marvin Seidel: The athlete made the death of his twin babies known.

Just a few months ago, the German badminton professional Marvin Seidel (29) announced that he and his wife Katrin will soon become parents of twins. Now the athlete had to make known that the babies died.



“Life will look very different soon. I am looking forward to what is coming,” wrote Seidel at the beginning of June to illustrate two strollers with two ultrasound images and the text “Tiny Team Seidel Loading …” and “End of 2025”.

Moving posting for the death of the twins

On Wednesday evening, the two-time Olympic participant then announced the sad news that the two babies died. “Our twins, Clara and Jacob, were only with us for a few days, but gave us more love than we would have ever thought possible”. “We mourn deeply and will always be grateful for the time we had with them.”


He also shared an illustration that shows a small zebra and a small elephant as well as a starry sky and a cross. This also includes the names of the children, Clara and Jacob, as well as their birth and death data. Accordingly, the twins were born on August 1st, the girl died just four days later on August 5 and the boy a day later on August 6th. Seidel did not make the cause of death public.




Seidel also shared a photo of the small grave littered with flowers, in which the two twins found their last rest. Accordingly, the two are buried in Saarland, where Seidel comes from.


Two-time Olympic participants

Marvin Seidel took part in the Olympic Games in Tokyo and Paris in 2021 and 2024. He won silver at the European Championships in the men’s doubles in Kiev 2021, then gold the following year in Madrid. He also won numerous bronze medals with the team, most recently in Lodz in 2024.
