Thomas Müller: Bavarian gift for jersey number 13

Football star Thomas Müller (35) takes a restart in the North American Major League Soccer at the Canadian Vancouver Whitecaps after 25 years at FC Bayern Munich. He can play with his traditional jersey number 13. For this he thanked his teammate with a special gift.

At the first team meeting, he surprised his new colleague Ralph Priso (23) with “traditional clothing from Bavaria” and presented him with leather pants. Priso had given up his number for Thomas Müller especially. “Thanks for number 13,” wrote the newcomer from Germany and added in the usual funny manner: “We’ll see you at the Oktoberfest in Munich.”

With the number, the long-time Bayern star 2014 with the German national team became world champion. On August 17th, he should now stand on the pitch for the Canadian club for the first time.

After 25 years at Bayern, Thomas Müller took on a new challenge in Vancouver. The reception was cordially a few days ago: At the Vancouver International Airport, he was greeted with an impressive ceremony and great fan enthusiast. Around 800 fans cheered the German football professional. The Musqueam, the indigenous First Nation People from Vancouver, received Müller with a traditional drum march and cultural chants.

How, the athlete moved into an apartment in downtown Vancouver with a view of the stadium. However, his wife Lisa Müller (35) does not take part. Because both are very busy. “I will definitely stay alone by December. I also came because of the sporty. The season until December is very deep and we also have international break breaks,” quotes Thomas Müller newspaper. “The other reason is that Lisa is also in the middle of the season in the dressage. The couple has been married since 2009.
