Tarantino: Give the directorial succession to David Fincher

Brad Pitt is back in front of the camera for the successor of “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood”. As a director this time, however, Quentin Tarantino is not there – he likes to leave it to a colleague.

Hollywood star Brad Pitt (61) has recently been standing for a successor project by the Tarantino film “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” in front of the camera. Now “Fight Club” director David Fincher (62) is on board who staged “The Adventures of Cliff Booth” according to a script by Oscar winner Quentin Tarantino (62). In a rare interview in the podcast “The Church of Tarantino” Tarantino raves about “The best of both”: “I have Brad and I got my favorite director David Fincher.”

He loves the script, but he was “unauthorized” to direct himself, because he had already done something similar. For his tenth and last feature film, it shouldn’t be anything well -known. “I have to go on new territory,” said Tarantino.

Pitt returns for the project in his role as a stunt double Cliff Booth, which in 2020 brought him in the Oscar as the best supporting actor. “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” (2019) with Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie played in Los Angeles in 1969. The feature film was Tarantinos so far as a director.

Tarantino commutes between Hollywood and Israel

“The Adventures of Cliff Booth” should play about eight years after the events of “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood”, otherwise little is known about the content. Tarantino, who also participates as a producer, said in the podcast that he would only be on the set in Hollywood occasionally. The father of two small children, who has been living in Israel for several years, claims to spend a lot of time with his family.

As a further project, there is a play written by him that could be performed in London next January, Tarantino promised in the prospect of the podcast.

“Not paralyzed with fear”

The filmmaker often spoke of breaking up after his tenth movie as a Hollywood director. There was a lot of speculation in the media that he was under great pressure and was afraid, said Tarantino. “I am not paralyzed with fear,” he assured in a podcast conversation. “Trust me.” However, it remains in the dark, which Tarantino could tackle as a possible last director project.
