For the first time, a “Latin Icon” award is to be awarded for the first time. This goes to Ricky Martin in 2025.

Ricky Martin (53) dusted countless prizes in his music business in the music business – including two Grammys. “We are very happy to distinguish Ricky Martin with the first ‘Latin Icon’ Award of the VMAS 2025”. Martin is also to perform live in New York during the show on September 7th. The rapper Busta Rhymes (53), which has been known for many years, will also perform and should be honored in a special way. He receives the first “Rock The Bells Visionary Award”. Busta Rhymes’ colleague LL Cool J (57) should lead through the evening.

More performances at the VMAs

In addition to Ricky Martin and Busta Rhymes, the first further performers were also announced. Sombr (20), Alex Warren (24), DJ Snake (39), J Balvin (40) and Sabrina Carpenter (26) will be on stage. Anyone who joins them is not yet known.


As always, the competition for the awards is huge: for the title of the “Artist of the Year”, the artist of the year, Lady Gaga (39), Bad Bunny (31), Beyoncé (43), Kendrick Lamar (38), Morgan Wallen (32), Taylor Swift (35) and The Weeknd (35).

Lady Gaga went into the race at the announcement of the nominations in early August and was proposed in a total of twelve categories. Music fans can currently vote on their favorite in the respective categories on the music fans.
