In 1960, the German rowers had no one on the note at the Olympic Games. And yet they won the victory. Also thanks to their innovative trainer. The story is now filmed. In Ratzeburg.
In Ratzeburg in Schleswig-Holstein, the German rowers surprisingly wrote history in 1960: they won the Olympic Games in Rome. The sports drama “Adams Eight” wants to tell this sporting sensation, the way there and the personal stories of the athletes and the legendary coach Karl Adam in the cinema from autumn 2026. The filming is currently underway in Ratzeburg. Actor Oliver Masucci takes on the leading role and embodies coach Adam.
The spectacular final sprint of the Olympic final is already in the box. It was shot on the two-kilometer regatta route of the Ratzeburger Küchensee, on which Adam’s team once trained.
Producer Ivo Beck promises: “We will show rowing as the world has never seen. We have cameras everywhere.” In addition, both actors and real rudder athletes, including German champions and Olympic champions, sit in the boats.
In addition to Masucci, Felix Kammerer (“In the West”), Leonard Kunz (“The most beautiful couple”), Nick Romeo Reimann (“Die Wilden”, “Großstadtkrocodile”) and Svenja Jung (“Die Mitte”) also includes the acting team.
