Norway’s crown princess Mette -Marit has her birthday – it should be the saddest of her life in view of the allegations against son Marius.

It is probably the most difficult circumstances under which the Norwegian crown princess Mette-Marit is concerned with her 52nd birthday this Tuesday. After celebrations, the wife of Crown Prince Haakon (52) should not be too much: less than 24 hours earlier against her son Marius Borg Høiby (28) was officially charged by the Oslo public prosecutor, among other things, the 28-year-old is accused of several rapes.

A birthday greeting on the official Instagram account of the Norwegian royal family is accordingly covered. It says briefly and briefly: “Congratulations to Crown Princess Mette-Marit, who is celebrating her birthday today!”

Shortly before Mette-Marit’s honorary day, the palace had commented on the indictment in a short statement: “It is up to the courts to deal with this case and to make a decision”. This will be expected to come after mid -January 2026, from then on Høiby Norwegian media should have to answer to court.

Høiby, the eldest son of Mette-Marit, comes from a previous relationship. Although he is part of the family, he does not play an official role in the Norwegian royal family. Mette -Marit has been married to Crown Prince Haakon of Norway since 2001, together they have two children: Princess Ingrid Alexandra (21), who recently started studying in Sydney Australian, and Prince Sverre Magnus (19).
