Ariana Debose: Mother Gina died at the age of 57

Oscar winner Ariana Debose (32) mourns the loss of her mother Gina. Like the actress on Tuesday, her mother died on Sunday morning at the age of 57 as a result of uterine cancer in the third stage. Her “beautiful, funny, special war queen Mother” had fought against the “insidious illness” for three years, said Debose.

The 32-year-old devotes her emotional words: “She was my favorite person, my biggest fan and toughest critic. My best friend. She was my date at every important moment in my professional and private life- and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” said Ariana Debose. “We were always two as long as I can think.”

Debose appreciates Gina’s commitment as a teacher – for almost 30 years she taught, most recently in 8th grade social studies – and her passion to promote young people. She emphasizes Gina’s creativity, empathy and courage and calls her a “local celebrity” in her community. Ariana emphasizes that her Oscar “belongs to her mother as well as her” and that her greatest pride is to have made her mother proud.

She concludes her post with personal words: “I love you, mom. Now travel between the seas, the winds and the angels, I know that you always loved it.” To this end, Ariana Debose divided numerous photos of her mother and the request to her followers to donate to uterine cancer foundations.
