Claudia and Stefan Effenberg: Third wedding is planned

Love has achieved a new dimension at Claudia Effenberg (59). After 23 years together, the designer wants to marry her husband, ex-soccer professional Stefan Effenberg (57), for the third time. The reason for this is dramatic and moving at the same time: in December she suffered a life -threatening pulmonary embolism that she almost cost her life.

This time everything should be different from the first two weddings. In 2004, the Effenbergs gave themselves the first yes word on the beach of Sanibel Island in Florida – quite casual. In 2014 they renewed their marriage vow, again in the USA. Now, eleven years later, Claudia has very specific ideas: “I will design my own wedding dress for it” and she will marry “in a real white princess dress”. It will also happen this year, she also revealed.

The way to this romantic fresh start was anything but easy. As Claudia Effenberg unveiled at “RTL Exclusiv” in January, she had had to undergo emergency surgery shortly before Christmas. There was even danger to life. Accordingly, she collapsed unconscious in her own home on December 16. At the time, Effenberg also confirmed this to the “Bild” newspaper. Her husband then acted quickly and alerted an ambulance. Once in the hospital, two -time thrombosis had been found. “Both lung wings were affected,” Effenberg revealed to the tabloid. The surgical intervention was successful.

The designer suspected that surgery on the hip that she had to undergo in 2023 due to a hairline tear could have been the trigger for her pulmonary embolism. Because after the intervention she moved too little, which is said to have formed thrombosis.

The exact date and place for the third wedding is still being considered in Effenberg. From “spectacular party” to the classic “wedding” everything is obviously conceivable. “Maybe all alone in a restaurant in Italy. Now Stefan is on the train,” said Claudia Effenberg.
