Arm in arm with the film icon: Dakota Johnson (35) and her mother Melanie Griffith (68) showed up as a perfectly coordinated duo at the premiere of “Splitsville” in the Grove in Los Angeles. The 35-year-old actress chose a tight-fitting, sleeveless dress in Silbermetallic for the important evening, which brought her silhouette perfectly. She wore her dark hair smoothly and classically styled.

Melanie Griffith, who recently celebrated her 68th birthday, chose a cream -colored suit, which she combined with beige sneakers and finger -free white peak gloves. Her blonde mane was parted to the side and stuck into an elegant updo. For the photographers, the two posed as a well -rehearsed team – they lovingly laid their arms around each other and beamed at each other.

Relaxed attitude to the “Nepo Baby” accusation

Dakota Johnson is now calm with the “Nepo Baby” label, which attaches her because of her prominent parents. “When it started, I found it incredibly annoying and boring” ,. “Write about something else. It’s just lame.”

The actress grew up in a true Hollywood dynasty. Antonio Banderas (65) was her stepfather, her grandmother is the legendary “The Birds” actress Tippi Hedren, who is 95 years old today. Father Don Johnson (75), known from “Miami Vice”, had threatened all of his children with the withdrawal of pocket money if they did not study. Dakota then applied to the renowned Juilliard School with monologues by William Shakespeare and Steve Martin.

From the student to the world star

But the path was not always easy: “There were a few times when I went to the supermarket and had no money in the account or could not pay for the rent, and I had to ask my parents for help,” recalled Johnson. “I am very grateful that I had parents who could help me and did it too. But it was certainly not funny.”

Dakota actually owed her very first film role to her mother Melanie. At the age of only nine, she gave her screen debut in Antonio Banderas’ directorial debut “Crazy in Alabama” from 1999. She then made the big breakthrough with her role as Harvard student Amelia in David Fincher’s drama “The Social Network” from 2010 before climbing the world star with the “Fifty Shades” trilogy.
