The renowned Argentine illustrator Gustavo Cabralbetter known as Plumpublicly denounced through its networks that a work exhibited in the Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires (Malba) reproduces in an identical way one of its illustrations of 2005, Dragon Callerwithout any credit to your authorship.
“Visiting the Malba I found an exhibited painting that was very similar to a 2005 painting called Dragon Caller,” the artist published in his Instagram account, along with two comparative images, one of his original work and another of him posing in front of the one exhibited in the Malba. The piece in question is part of the sample “The Deserter of the Devil”of the artist Carrie Bencardino.
Bencardino acknowledged having inspired Ciruelo, although He defended his work and described him as “ghost”. “I always quote you as my great reference when talking about that work. My show turns largely around the images that most influenced me when I was a teenager and I began to interest art,” he said in his own networks.
The resemblance between both pieces is evident: a dragon in full flight occupies the center of the composition, with similar colors, position and landscape. “In the Malba I saw no credit or reference to my work. Malba’s response to Ciruelo’s accusation
