What is Half Man about
Half Man follows the distanced “brothers” Niall (Jamie Bell) and Ruben (Richard Gadd). The unexpected appearance of Ruben at Niall’s wedding triggers an explosion of violence that leads us to travel their lives. The story covers almost 40 years, from the 1980s to the present, with Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell playing the protagonists in their youth.
The series explores the complex relationship between Niall and Ruben: from its turbulent years as adolescents to their breakdown in adulthood, crossing good, bad, painful, fun and challenging moments. In addition, it reflects the energy of a city – and of a world – in constant transformation, while reflecting on what it means to be a man.
