People: Amanda Knox and Monica Lewinsky celebrate the premiere of their series

Amanda Knox and Monica Lewinsky have presented their mini drama series “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox” in New York, which deals with the spectacular murder process against Amanda Knox and the media hype. “I had the feeling that I could finally mourn the young person I was once,” said the 38-year-old Know from the US Promise “People” at the premiere.

The series can be seen on the Disneyplus streaming platform. Knox and Lewinsky (52) are the producers. Amanda Knox – also known as “angels with the ice eyes” – is played in the series by actress Grace van Patten (28). When Knox recognizes van Pattens in the “People” interview, the tears come.

“Someone recently said that someone stole my lights at the time. They not only took my freedom, but also my shining. And to see how she reproduced it to me – I am just so grateful to her that she recognized it for me.”

Knox himself has already processed her experiences in a book (“Time, to be heard”). In the Netflix documentary “Amanda Knox” she also had a detailed say.

Knox was in prison for four years

The murder of the 21 -year -old Meredith Kercher in the Italian city of Perugia made headlines worldwide in 2007. Knox and her friend at the time quickly got suspected. Knox was initially sentenced to a long prison sentence and had to spend four years in prison in Italy. In 2015, however, both were ultimately completely acquitted of the allegation of the murder.

Anyone who murdered the young British at the time has not yet been clarified. A young man was convicted of helping to murder, whose fingerprints had been found at the scene. He is now at large again.

“When we met, I saw the same pain in her”

Monica Lewinsky had already participated in the series “Impeachment: American Crime Story”, in which the sensational affair of former US president Bill Clinton was processed with the then intern Lewinsky in the 1990s.

The affair between Clinton and Lewinsky had hit high waves and almost cost the president: Clinton, who had already been married to his wife Hillary at the time, had to face the relationship with Lewinsky in 1999 because of a lie. However, the US Senate freed him about the allegations of mone and disability of the judiciary.

Lewinsky said the industry sheet “The Hollywood Reporter” about the series with Amanda Knox: “When we met, I saw the same pain I saw in me. She desperately wanted to break out of the drawer into which she was inserted.”
