Jamal Musiala cannot be broken by his injury. The football star explains why he also sees setbacks as a chance.

Until Jamal Musiala (22) is back on the field, it will take some time. At the club World Cup, the football professional had seriously injured. But he does not necessarily see such setbacks as negative, as he explains. “There are injuries in a career,” says Musiala. “But I also see her as an opportunity to get to know your body better and thus gain experience. It’s about using setbacks to come back more.”

The greatest support in difficult times: his family. “The fact that my parents and my siblings are always with me gives me strength. Without them all, I would certainly not be where I am today,” says Musiala.

Jamal Musiala: “I always tried to be myself”

The footballer would not change anything in his life, even if he could. “There was actually a lot happened in a short time, there were many situations from which I could learn something. But I always tried to be myself,” says the international. He has not really changed over the years. He always wanted to stay “calm and modest”.

Today he still feels greater pressure than before. “Experience grows as a person and as a player, you have to take responsibility. That is why the demands on me have increased,” says Musiala. He doesn’t have to deal with the pressure to perform alone. He sees “that all players help me around me and support me. That’s why I can stay true to myself and my game”.

Outlook on the upcoming World Cup

The midfield star wants to prepare thoroughly for the 2026 World Cup. But he also firmly believes in the German team and its potential, explains Musiala. “The EM 2024 made us a real team, and I have the feeling that we will be able to increase in the coming years,” he is certain.

He played his first World Cup in 2022 for Germany. In 2021, the German-British football player decided on the German and against the English national team. He was 18 years old in his first international match, and he celebrated his Bundesliga debut at the age of 17. Musiala has been playing in the first team of FC Bayern Munich since summer 2020.
