Beatrix and her sister are still committed to the Dutch crown. The former queen is devoted to young music.

They could have been retired long ago, but they show themselves as hard -working representatives of the crown: the former Dutch queen and today’s princess Beatrix (87) and her sister, Princess Margriet (82). As the palace shows on its social media channels on Thursday, one was on the move, the other sporty.

Princess Beatrix visited the last concert of the European Union Youth Orchestra (Euyo) as a guest of honor in the royal concert hall in Amsterdam on Wednesday. “The orchestra played the Romanian rhapsody of the composer Enescu under the direction of Iván Fischer. Then three compositions were played by Stravinsky, and the violinist Alina Ibragimova played as soloist Tchaikovsky’s violin concert”.

Beatrix ‘participation not only underlines the importance of the youth orchestra founded in 1976 as a cultural link in Europe, but also shows her personal commitment to the promotion of young musicians and the European cultural exchange.
