Brent Hinds is dead. The former guitarist of the band Mastodon died at the age of only 51 in a traffic accident.
The well-known musician Brent Hinds is dead. The founding member of the metal band Mastodon died on Wednesday evening in the US metropolis Atlanta in a traffic accident. He was 51 years old.

The accident occurred around 11:35 p.m. when the driver of an SUV was turning on a Harley Davidson when turning Hinds. This was confirmed by the police against “Atlanta News First”. At the scene of the accident, Hinds was declared dead by the emergency staff.
The musician’s band confirmed the tragic death in the meantime on Instagram. “We are in a state of incredible sadness and incredible grief” ,. And further: “Brent Hinds died of the consequences of a tragic accident last night. We are inconsolable, shocked and still try to process the loss of this creative force with which we shared so many triumph, milestones and the creation of music that has touched the hearts of so many people.”
Hinds founded Mastodon together with the bassist Troy Sanders, guitarist Bill Kelliher and drummer Brann Dailor. At the beginning of the year, however, he and the group went separate paths.

Mastodon said Hinds’ exit had been made mutually. The musicians wished their former member “nothing but success and luck with his future activities”.

But in response to a fan’s comment on the post, Hinds reported that he was thrown out of the group. He described his former bandmates as “terrible people”.
Mastodon was founded in the US South State metropolis Atlanta in the early 2000s. Her debut album “Remission” was released in 2002. Her last album “Hushed and Grim” followed in 2021.
