Wepper had to undergo tumor surgery in early 2021 and made his illness public. After his operation, he was in intensive care for five months. But the actor was isolated due to the Corona regulations and the resulting ban on visits. Rehabilitation followed in the summer, during which he wanted to regain his strength. He spent several months in the rehabilitation facility at Tegernsee.
He now feels physically and mentally good, the actor said. “My wife and children gave me so much strength. Their love saved me. I’m still in a wheelchair, but I’m trying to walk again myself.”
