Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl shine at the premiere of their new film – and give insights into their happiness in love.
“Dallas” icon Patrick Duffy (76) and “Happy Days” star Linda Purl (69) have been going through life together as a couple for around five years. And they not only do that apart, but also often in front of the camera. On Thursday, the two appeared in love like on the first day in Los Angeles to celebrate the premiere of their joint new film “Hollywood Grit” – not by the way, not a romantic comedy, but a tough action thriller.
In private, however, you have the romanticism above everything that is as part of the film premiere. “It sounds so clichéd, but our life is very romantic, everything we do has this undertone,” enthuses Duffy. Do not work with him on a film or series project, “I send her flowers into the changing room.” The star, who became world famous as a Bobby Ewing in the cult series “Dallas”, only had to do without when the shooting has to do without together: “That probably sounds arrogant, but when we work together, I consider us a flower for each other.”
She had to get used to intimacy on the set first
Exchange intimacy with the real partner at the film set – Purl had to get used to this. “It was pretty strange when we worked for the first time,” recalls the actors. “We had finished a scene and I felt a slap on my butt … on the set! Then I heard: ‘Well done, honey.'” Something ashamed Duffy then replied: “This is legal!”
A love made for Hollywood
Between 2022 and 2023 they participated in the soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful”, among others, at that time they were officially a couple. Her love story is ready for Hollywood: from 1974 until her death in 2017, Duffy was married to the dancer Carlyn Rosser. According to this tragedy, he doubted for a long time whether he would ever find a new love again.
Corona pandemic, of all things, ensured that he came back into contact with his old known purl via text messages and quickly developed feelings between the two. “I fully charged my car, drove for 20 hours and finally landed on your door, just to see if it is true,” said Duffy in November 2020. “Since then we have not been separated from each other.”
