The US rapper Lil NAS X remains behind bars after his arrest in Los Angeles, at least until Monday. The 26-year-old, who is called Montero Hill, ran through the streets almost naked on Thursday morning and is said to have started to police officers when he was arrested.

As the authorities confirmed, the musician has been in the van Nuys prison since Thursday afternoon. According to the Sheriffs Department, release is only possible when a court decides on the amount of a deposit. Since he is accused of a violent act, a mandatory date before the judge is necessary. The first hearing can take place at the beginning of the new week, it is said.

The incident was triggered by a bizarre appearance of the rapper in the early morning. Several callers reported a half -naked man on the Ventura Boulevard. Eyewitnesses described that Lil NAS X only wore underwear and boots and at times even put a traffic cone on the head. The American portal “TMZ” published videos that made passers -by of the incident.

The reports also say that the situation should be escalated when the police arrived. “The suspect hit an official and was therefore reported against a police officer for assault,” said a spokeswoman. US media also wrote that the rapper even hit a police officer twice. This was not officially confirmed. Before he came into the cell, Lil NAS X was initially taken to a hospital, but released a short time later and transferred directly to prison.

On social media, the musician had posted a selfie with the cryptic line shortly before the incident: “Oh No Shes Gone Mad! Crazy I Tell and!” (In German: “Oh no, she went crazy! Insane, I tell you!”), Whether this was already a cry for help or whether the behavior is due to drugs is not yet known.

In the past few months, Lil NAS X has repeatedly reported personal burdens. In a video published in February, he spoke openly that the past few years had been “quite difficult” for him.
