Vanessa Bryant (43) and her eldest daughter Natalia (22) reminded Kobe Bryants (1978-2020) on Saturday. The late basketball star would have turned 47 on August 23.
Vanessa Bryant published that she shows with her late husband during a European vacation. In the picture she kisses Kobe on the cheek. “We love and miss you and gigi so much. We send you our love. Happy birthday, baby,” she wrote in the caption.
Daughter shares childhood memory
Daughter Natalia also posted a memory of her father. She shared, on which she and Kobe jokingly imitate a statue. “Happy birthday, dad,” she commented on the picture with a red heart emoji. Natalia was 17 when her father died in the helicopter accident.
In addition to the family, Pau Gasol (45) also spoke up. The former Lakers player and close friend Bryants posted. “Happy birthday, Hermano. I miss you and love you forever,” wrote the Spanish basketball professional. From 2008 to 2014, Gasol and Bryant played together at the Los Angeles Lakers and won two NBA championships. The two athletes also maintained a close friendship away from the field.
Helicopter accident cost two life
Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna died on January 26, 2020 in a helicopter crash. The accident occurred on the way to a basketball game in Calabasas, California. A total of nine people died in the crash.
The five-time NBA champion leaves his wife Vanessa and the daughters Natalia, Bianka (8) and Capri (6). Bryant had ended his 20-year career at the Lakers 2016 and devoted himself to his family after retreating.
Los Angeles continues to honor Bryant
At the beginning of August, the Los Angeles Dodgers Bryant honored a special campaign. On August 8th-a reference to his former jersey number-stadium visitors received a wobbly head figure of the basketball star. At the event, Bryant’s younger daughters took on ceremonial tasks. Bianka threw the first ball, while Capri the traditional announcement “It’s time for Dodger’s baseball!” made.
