Thomas Gottschalk: Entertainer raves about his new life

A broad smile, champagne atmosphere and the great love at his side: Thomas Gottschalk literally beams with luck when he reports on Instagram from London on August 23. The 75 -year -old entertainer enjoys her vacation together in the British capital with his second wife Karina Mroß – and can hardly hide his enthusiasm.

“I am back in London for the first time in twenty years,” writes the former “Wetten, dass …?”-Moderator who shows the couple in the British capital. The recordings radiate pure joie de vivre: Gottschalk in pink jacket, his blonde wife beaming next to him, both with smiling faces between colorful floral splendor or at breakfast.

The Instagram pictures of the TV star document perfect vacation moments: sightseeing on the legendary double-decker bus, elegant champagne moments, culinary highlights and relaxed walks through London’s streets. And again and again the selfies of the couple grinning over both ears.

Because apparently not only years, but also worlds between Gottschalk’s first visit to London and his current one. “In the meantime, a lot has happened both here and in my life – everything differently and much better. I’m happier today!” Gottschalk writes about the pictures.

These words should make you listen, after all, Gottschalk’s life was completely different two decades ago. At that time he moderated various television shows at the height of his career, celebrated TV successes and was still married to his first wife Thea, with whom he had spent 48 years together.

Thea was separated in 2019, but it was not until May 2024 that the divorce was legally established. Just a few weeks later, the engagement with Karina Mroß followed, and the secret wedding was finally publicly known in September of last year. Since then, the entertainer seems to have arrived in his new phase of life.

Gottschalk’s emphasis seems particularly remarkable to be “happier” today than in the times of his greatest career success. While the golden era of his TV career was still in 2005, the 75-year-old is now significantly shorter.
