On the first day of the death of Christoph Daum, widow Angelica shares moving private photos and a handwritten love card.

A year has passed since the German football world has lost one of its most charismatic coaches. On August 24, 2024, Christoph Daum succumbed to his fight against lung cancer at the age of 70. On this painful anniversary, his wife gives the public an intimate insight into her love.

With a collection of private photographs, the widow also tells of her marriage. The pictures show the couple in happy moments – radiant faces on common trips, trusted moments far from the public. They are recordings that Christoph Daum does not show as a dreaded tactic fox, but as a loving husband and family man.

Handwritten card

A handwritten card appears particularly touching, which Angelica Camm-Daum also published on her husband’s death. There it says: “Should I have not told you today how much I love you and long for you – so I made an unforgivable mistake.” The message ends with a promise that points far beyond earthly life: “No matter what – how happens until the end of all days and much, much longer!” The lines are decorated with a painted heart and the initials “ad and cd”.

Angelica and Christoph Daum have had a relationship since 2000. Together they got a daughter and a son. The spectacular wedding in 2007 marked the climax of its connection in the middle circle of the Rhine Energy Stadium of the 1st FC Köln.

Together between happiness and struggle

The last years of her marriage were overshadowed by Christoph Daum’s serious illness. In October 2022 it became known that the former national coach was suffering from lung cancer. In August 2024 he finally lost the fight against the disease.
