Kathleen Turner supported the stars of the remake of her film classic “The Rose War” and posed with them at the premiere.

Only very rarely is actress Kathleen Turner (71) in public. But for this occasion she made an exception: her cult film “The Rose War” from 1989 received a new edition, and “The Roschlacht” celebrated its premiere in New York on Monday evening.

Kathleen Turner suffers from rheumatoid arthritis

Turner became world famous by the original alongside Michael Douglas (80). Today, however, it is marked by the traces of her illness. The actress suffers from rheumatoid arthritis. That was now also noticeable on the red carpet. Turner had to rely on a walking stick.

Nevertheless, she was in a good mood and laughed next to the stars of the remake, Benedict Cumberbatch (49) and Olivia Colman (51). The trio had consistently opted for black clothes. Turner wore a classic dress and black sandals.

Film shows the failure of a marriage

In the original film, Kathleen Turner played the role of Barbara Rose, Michael Douglas her husband Oliver Rose and Danny Devito (80) his divorce lawyer. It was illuminated in the cult film how love becomes hatred and a couple literally warts to the blood. In the tragic comedy “The Rose Battle”, which comes to German cinemas on August 28, Colman and Cumberbatch show a new version 36 years later. Colman embodies the owner of the restaurant Ivy Rose, Cumberbatch her husband Theo Rose, a successful architect. Andy Samberg (47) plays Barry, Theo’s divorce lawyer.
