Meghan and Harry have been living in California for more than five years. The Duchess of Sussex revealed how life there is different from that in the palace in the UK in an interview.
Duchess Meghan (44), as a member of the British royal family, could not show himself as authentically as she would have liked to do. For example, she had to wear skin -colored fine tights “all the time”, as she now told in an interview.
On the occasion of the second season of her Netflix series “With Love, Meghan”, the Duchess of Sussex talked in detail with the Bloomberg presenter Emily Chang. In burger and beer, the two chat about Meghan’s business projects, life as a celebrity in California and their personal preferences.
Among other things, she reported that she took her surname Markle, which was once considered a trademark, with Prince Harry (40) at the wedding. “My official name is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,” she said. It is not a last name, but a duke, she explains and adds: “But Sussex works for us as a family name, and it is a name that we share with our children.”
Criticism of Trump cannot be elicited
In addition to the possibility of making decisions about her wardrobe herself, she also missed to say what she thinks. When asked how they evaluate the direction in which the United States developed, Meghan then gave himself quite monosyllabic. Criticism of US President Donald Trump, whom she described as “misogynis” in 2016, could not be elicited. If there was something to say that it would be important to her, she would do it. “But that’s not the point I stand at.”
Although she and her husband are among the most famous people in the world, they are frequently assuming, said Meghan. “We don’t try to stay incognito,” said the Duchess.
