After his arrest on Thursday, Lil NAS X spoke up for the first time. The traumatic four days would have taken him heavily.
US musician Lil NAS X (26) broke the silence after his spectacular arrest in Los Angeles. In an emotional Instagram video, Montero Hill, as the artist is called with a bourgeois name, assures his concerned fans: “Your girl will be fine. Okay? You will survive it.”
According to reports, the rapper turns his eyes briefly and laughs exhausted before he continues: “It was damn scary. That was four scary days. But your girl is fine.”
The events started early Thursday morning in the Studio City district in Los Angeles. Around six o’clock, police officers discovered the Grammy winner, who ran naked through the streets. According to the authorities, the artist attacked the officials at the confrontation, whereupon he was immediately arrested.
Since the police suspected a possible overdose, the “Old Town Road” interpreter was initially taken to a local hospital. After his release from the clinic, he was brought to Valley Jail in van Nuys, where he had to spend the weekend. A passerby had first filmed the rapper with boots and underwear, later he was completely exposed.
A complaint submitted
After the arrest, a lawsuit was submitted to the officials due to presumably triple bodily harm by police officers and resistance to the officials. At a hearing on Monday, Lil NAS X was not guilty in all four points. The court set the deposit at $ 75,000 and ordered the participation in Narcotics anonymous meetings after his release.
The artist was released in the same afternoon for the deposit. His father Robert Stafford was relieved in front of reporters: “He is in a good atmosphere and deeply regretted what happened. He will get the help he needs.”
Defender Drew Findling also referred to the professional success of his client. The 26-year-old “has never entered a courthouse before,” emphasized the lawyer. It is still unclear whether substance abuse, medical or emotional problems played a role. “We will do our best to tackle these problems,” assured Findling. He added: “Don’t forget, he is 26 years old. So it is not unusual that something like this happens, especially when you are under pressure to be as well known internationally as he is.” He asked that people “don’t judge someone after the worst moment in his life”.
according to the Los Angeles public prosecutor, the rapper must expect up to five years in prison in a conviction. A hearing is scheduled to take place on September 15th.
