The engagement of pop star Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ensures a lot of attention. The singer also breaks a record with the announcement on Instagram.
Taylor Swift collects records like other people. After countless best values in the field of music, the musician has now also written history on Instagram. Her engagement post with NFL star Travis Kelce reached over a million reposts (as of August 28) and set a new record on the platform.
On Tuesday, Swift and Kelce announced that they got engaged. The pictures show the couple in love in a sea of flower in the garden and the singer’s opulent engagement ring. “Your English teacher and your sports teacher marry,” Swift wrote sporting success in allusion to her lyrical effusions and Kelces.
Taylor Swift: Record reached in six hours
Meta, the parent company of Instagram, confirmed that the engagement post has now been reposted over a million times. A contribution on the platform has never been shared as often with others as this. Particularly noteworthy: the couple only took six hours to set the record.
In the first hour after publication, the post had collected 14 million likes. In the meantime there are over 32 million fells.
Messi still has more likes
This sum is a real announcement – however, Swift and Kelce are (still) very far away from the most -fed post on Instagram. Football star Lionel Messi continues to keep this record: With the Cup of the World Cup from December 2022, over 74.5 million likes has been collected so far. The famous “world record egg” from 2019 follows in second place with more than 60.5 million likes.
