Filmstar Bruce Willis’s dementia disease has more and more serious consequences. In an interview, his wife said that he moved to a more suitable house.
According to his wife, the actor Bruce Willis (70), who is suffering from dementia (70), no longer lives at home. “I knew that primarily Bruce would have wanted this for our daughters,” said Emma Heming Willis (47) in a TV interview with US presenter Diane Sawyer for the broadcaster ABC. “He would have wanted you to be in a home that is more tailored to your needs than on his.” So Willis now lives in a bungalow nearby with conditions for him and the nursing staff, she continued.
In 2022, the family announced that Willis would withdraw from the film business because of an illness. A year later, a more precise diagnosis followed: frontotemporal dementia, a rare, rapidly progressive and non-curable disease, in which nerve cells are initially broken down in the forehead and temple area of the brain.
Noise burdens the sick star
The disease ensures that noise will burden Willis very much, his wife said in the interview. That is why she had her two 13- and 11-year-old daughters no longer organized afternoons and overnight stays by friends. “I insulated our whole family,” said Heming Willis. The new house for Willis enables a different way of life.
“It is a house full of love and warmth and care and laughter,” said Heming Willis. Many friends of the actor would continue to visit him. “It’s very nice to see.”
Bruce Willis married his wife in 2009. With his former wife Demi Moore, he has three other adult children. The two families are closely linked. They post photos of celebrations and visit together.
