Benedict Cumberbatch: Special “Rule” for his marriage happiness

He is in the Marvel universe as Dr. Strange, appears in acclaimed films such as “The Power of the Dog” or “1917” – and can currently be seen alongside Olivia Colman (51) in the divorce comedy “Die Rosenschlacht” in the cinema. Hollywood star Benedict Cumberbatch (49) has also been happily married to theater director Sophie Hunter (47) for ten years. The couple has three children. At a podcast appearance, Cumberbatch now revealed that he follows his family a so-called “two-week rule”.

In a new edition of Josh Horowitz ‘”Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Cumberbatch was asked if there was anything his family annoying him. “Being away from home, she startles,” he said. And according to his own statement, he also doesn’t like to be separated from home and his loved ones.

“So we try to do as much as possible to ensure that this is not the case – the two -week rule – and we are trying to work as hard as possible to ensure that the work here near home takes place so that I can come home or take it with me,” said Cumberbatch.

But even the latter would not solve all problems. Because if his family visits him on the set, they would not do what he is doing there and wonder why they are there and not see their father or mother. According to Cumberbatch, this “is not necessarily a solution”.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s latest film “Die Rosenschlacht” is a remake of the Hollywood classic “The Rose War” with Kathleen Turner (71) and Michael Douglas (80) from 1989.
