Intermediate stop on an eventful journey: Jana Ina and Giovanni Zarrella look back on 20 eventful years of marriage.
Amore Per Sempre: In view of the 20th wedding anniversary of Jana Ina (48) and Giovanni Zarrella (47), not falling into the kitsch of Eros Ramazzotti is a challenge. And yet: it wasn’t always everything “Tutto Bene” at the Brazilian-Italian dream couple. In the year of her wedding 2005, Giovanni’s worst years started. Both will also think back on this if they toast the happiness of their 20-year trip today.
No dream couple without Bad Lausick
Absolutely scandal -free, highly Telegen and always in a good mood – typical German lucky dividers make it difficult for the Zarrellas to find even a hair in the minestrone. Initially, a common life seemed more than unlikely.
Janaina Vizeu Berenhauser Borba grew up in Petropolis in Brazilian. The German-Brazilian was discovered early as a model and voted “Miss Rio” in 1997. However, the election for the couple took place a year later in the Saxon Bad Lausick. Had Jana Ina not won the title of “Miss Intercontinental” there, the dream couple would never have met.
In 1999, she decided to pull the land of her great -grandparents to Germany, and tried it out in the television subject. With success: 2004 to 2006 she took over the moderation of a five-hour afternoon program at the Giga TV station in Düsseldorf.
First appearances with Papa Bruno in Hechingen
At the same time, Italo-Schwabe Giovanni completed an apprenticeship as an IT system clerk at the end of the 1990s, which he did not buy: “I didn’t understand anything about the matter,” said Zarrella 2024 in the “Hotel Matze”-Deep-Talk. Even his entry into the sales of a Swabian moderate brought no satisfaction, since he only wanted to have one thing since childhood: as a musician on a stage.
At that time, Papa Bruno, Padron of the “Ristorante Schwanen” in Hechingen, entertained his regular guests with Italian vocals at an advanced hour. Afterwards son Giovanni performed songs by his musical hero Michael Jackson (1958-2009).
From IT system clerk to Bro’sis star
Fortunately, in 2001 a work colleague pointed out the “pop stars” casting from RTL2. It was about the successor to the extremely successful No Angels. Zarrella debuted with “How Deep Is Your Love” from the Bee Gees and in the end grabbed one of six places in the mixed formation of Bro’sis. From November 2001 to summer 2005 he lived his lifelong dream from the pop star-including number one-album, tour through sold-out great arenas and Bambi ceremony in 2002. Here he even shared the same stage with his idol Michael Jackson.
In 2004 he met the beautiful Jana Ina at a charity TV event. Both danced the night – a spark flight that continues to this day. The Bro’Sis hype only lasted four years. “Back then I was hoping that it stayed that way forever,” says Zarrella. But the envy grew, the halls are smaller. In the summer of 2005, Bro’sis was over. Shortly before his wedding with Jana Ina, Giovanni fell into a huge hole: “I wanted to fall into private luck. But that didn’t work properly. It was just a short distraction.”
Giovanni Zarrella: “The three most difficult years of my life”
The time between the Bro’sSis separation and the birth of his son Gabriel Bruno on September 23, 2008, Zarrella still describes as “the three hardest years of my life.” His phone stood still. And if he showed himself at events despite career doldrums, colleagues whispered: “Not going to the red carpet at the same time as Zarrella.”
At that time he even began to smack his Jana Ina and herself. She went to work – and he said that he went to the recording studio: “She is to her car, I made a round around the block and went back into the house.” When he revealed himself, she encouraged him: “I know what kind of man you are and what kind of dad you will be.”
“Tearing on myself, it is difficult for me”
During pregnancy with son Gabriel, both were accompanied by ProSieben with the camera in “Jana Ina & Giovanni – We are pregnant”. A decade began in which the Zarrellas presented and tried in numerous TV formats and roles. While Jana Ina successfully moderated reality shows such as “Love Island”, he often showed himself to be a “TV Total” candidate or “Italy expert” on sports television.
“In that time, many thought that I am only the type of Jana Ina.” Giovanni Zarrella has shaped his career doldrum forever – and today still has an impact on her life as a couple. He admits: “Unfortunately, I am a person who makes things like that. ‘Let’s put it down and discuss a topic that concerns me’ – I may have said this sentence three times in my life. I like to deal with other people. It is difficult for me.”
Own Saturday evening show since 2021
The turn came in 2019. Giovanni met the producer Christian Geller (50). He advised him: “You have to do something that you are believed to be.” He produced the Italian album “La Vita è Bella” with him, which sold half a million times. Two number one albums followed. After 14 years in the tunnel, Zarrella was back in the light. From then on it went in a blow.
Since 2021 he has been presenting his own Saturday evening show on ZDF – and moderated as if he had never done anything else. In addition to duets with world stars like Michael Bublé (49), he presents the Italo heroes of his childhood in the Ristorante with trendy veteran like Ricchi e Poveri. And Mama Clementina (63), Papa Bruno, Jana Ina and brother Stefano (34) go in the front row. Your message: Together we can do everything.
“I love you the most for that”
Jana Ina and Giovanni Zarrella are family people through and through. Your two children promote and protect them alike. Son Gabriel is now convincing as a central defender of the U19 of VfB Stuttgart. He continues his father’s dream, who once kicked in the Swabian youth. Her daughter (12) is to grow up from the media public. Best evidence: To date, neither appearance nor the first name of the daughter is known.
On the occasion of this year’s Father’s Day on May 29, Jana Ina, now a moderator, model and brand ambassador, posted her 965,000 followers: “Many can be a true father – only a few can.” In her own childhood, she “missed a lot”. And further: “That’s why I knew: I will only get children when I find the right person. God listened. He not only gave me a wonderful husband – he gave our children the best father in the world […] I love you for a lot – but I love you the most. “This confession of love sounds after another 20 years of marriage.
