Reinhold Messner and his Diane: couple renewed his vows in India

Reinhold Messner (80) has been married to his wife Diane (born 1980) since 2021. A good four years later, the two renewed their marriage vow.

The mountaineering legend has shared a picture on the social media platform on which the two look at each other. In addition, Messner explains in the attached comment that the couple feel at home in South Tyrol, but also in Asia and “especially in India, where humility and culture have touched us deeply”.

“There in India we gave each other our vows again,” Messner continues. “It was magical, mystical. Only we both. Together, in loneliness, we are best.” The two would enjoy dealing with people and society, “but sometimes life is reduced to its purest form: only we two, side by side, stronger than the world around us”.

As a pillar, respect, understanding and mindfulness made the couple’s relationship really meaningful, Messner explained to the two on the platform. You are happy to travel and apparently also accompanies an optimistic, affirmative basic attitude on all your adventures. “We both live positively into the future, do not look back. Not at the success that was once, enjoy the successful life in the here and now. I hope that it will be faithfully preserved,” said Reinhold Messner 2022 in a double interview from the news agency spot on news.

“If you are young, you may not often think of your own transience, unlike you have an older partner,” said his wife Diane at the time. “And if Reinhold has a bad day, I have a look over it and think that it is not so important (laughs). These troubles lose themselves in the thought of the transience of life. The time with our loved ones is very short, so we should live them sensibly and intensely.”
